Eric Leightman

Eric grew up in Hollywood, Florida, and then came to the University of Florida in 2001 to become a life-time Gator. He met his wife Rachel here in town and they have 3 children. While in his Junior year at UF, Eric obtained his real estate license and started working at a local brokerage. After graduating in 2005 Summa Cum Laude from UF’s Warrington College of Business, he started assisting developers, buyers, and sellers with properties near UF campus.

Within 5 years of graduating, Eric was named as one of the top real estate professionals in the entire nation with Realtor Magazine's "30 Under 30." Thirty Realtors under thirty years old were chosen throughout the country to represent outstanding professionalism and service in the field of real estate. Eric and his business partner Matt then teamed up to form University Realty in 2009. They have known each other since they were childhood tennis camp friends.

Eric has individually sold over $250,000,000 in Gainesville real estate by working with over 1,200 buyers and sellers. He has also been #1 in residential Realtor sales volume for property within a 3-mile radius from UF's classes, and top 1% of all residential Realtor sales in all of Gainesville since 2005.   He sells property from Haile Plantation, to Northwest Gainesville, Newberry, Downtown, near UF, Southwest Gainesville, and hundreds of areas in between.

When he’s not working, Eric loves spending time watching the Gators with his kids, playing golf, basketball, tennis, pickleball, being in nature, playing chess, and reading. He has been a youth leader at his local church and also founded and helps run a non-profit organization focused on helping the poor in educational settings in Kenya and Malawi.
